Summer days drifting away

I figured I hadn't been on here in awhile and it was time for an update. We have had a fun summer filled with lots of different activities. To start off Jonathan and I both had/ have jobs which have kept us busy. I also took my boards to become a registered dental hygienist and I passed! Wahoo! Now I'm just waiting for my license to finishing processing and to become a official RDH. We had the opportunity to spend time with family and enjoy the warm weather. We also got to spend time together which has been awesome after spending so much of my time in dental hygiene school.

Here are some pictures of our activities this summer:

  • Jonathan and I were honored to be in one of our best friends weddings

Isaac's wedding

Ilicia's Wedding

  • We went boating with my family and Jonathan learned how to ski :)

We all jumped in for a swim while Kamill was getting ready to wakeboard

  • I went to the Snake River Stampede with my family. It made me realize that I miss going to rodeos and riding horses.

  • I made strawberry freezer jam with strawberries from my parent's garden

  • Jonathan got to play dad for the weekend to one of our nephews for a scouting campout

  • Jonathan and I started a diet and started working out again to become more healthy and take better care of ourselves (We have slacked off since we have been married especially this last year

  •  We then had a cheat night when we went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair.

I had the delicious dutch oven
Jonathan however had the Bullseye Burger (a glazed donut with hamburger stuff in the middle)

  • We then were able to go to the Chris Young concert thanks to my friend Kambree and her husband Kevin offering us tickets to go. It was both Jonathan and I's first concert. I had a blast and want to go to another one :)

Jonathan also took the MCAT (and did well I might add) and he has applied for medical schools. Now we just have to wait :(  and I'd have to say that this waiting game is going to test both of our patience. We still have secondaries to fill out and then hopefully interviews (fingers crossed) Jonathan has started his last semester of his undergraduate and will graduate in December. Yay!!

I will definitely try to keep everyone updated a little better on our lives and adventures.
Until then keep smiling and enjoy the journey!!

Summer so far

Jonathan and I have been enjoying our summer so far.  We are spending some much needed time together.  Jonathan is taking the MCAT in a few weeks to accompany his medical school applications. (exciting :) )  We both have found jobs that are keeping us busy and filling up our bank account. It is so nice to see money go into the account instead of out.

We spent our 4th of July with Jonathan's best friend Isaac and his family at the Glendale Lake. We boated, had a fun time, and got sunburned. When I mean sunburned its the first time I've been out in the sun all summer. So a super pale white girl in the sun, no good. Even with multiple layers of sunscreen I still got a huge sunburn.

We hope to make it up to visit my parents and take their boat out. We need to teach Jonathan how to ski and wakeboard  :)

I found this little gem as I was cleaning documents and things off of my computer now that I am done with school. I figured I would share it with you all.

Jonathan loves growing a beard and every time he gets ready to shave, he likes to come out with different designs and see how I like them.  His personal favorite is the middle picture on the bottom row.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summers.

Graduation!!

I DID IT! Well I have to admit graduation seemed like a figment of my imagination that would never come. I remember thinking at the end of my first semester of the dh program that the next year and a half would go by so slow and almost seemed impossible. I've had the opportunity of sharing the last 2 years with some amazing people who I can call my friends. I have had some highs and some through out the program and for awhile didn't think it was possible to graduatate. But things worked out and I had my dental hygiene graduation on May 10 and then graduated from the university on May 11. I am thankful for my family who came to support me on those days. I'm also thankful to all of those who have supported me over the last two years. :)   I am so happy and excited to be done with school. I find myself not knowing what to do with all of the time I now have. I still feel like it's a dream but I'm sure it will hit me soon enough that I don't have to go back to school again.

Here is a bunch of photos of graduation and such. ENJOY!

This is at the end of our first year of school.

Our class followed tradition and decorated our lab coats on the last day of clinic

my hunny who I am so thankful to for his support over the last 2 yrs

My parents

These girls kept me laughing, sane and having a good time. I couldn't have done it without them and I am so thankful for their friendship.

Jonathan is taking the MCAT this week and has been studying like crazy. I wish him the best of luck. He plans on applying to medical school this summer. He also is working this summer in a research position at the university. I still have my certifiying boards to take in June, apply for licensure in Idaho and then I can start to work as a RDH. I hope I will be able to find something in the area, as jobs are hard to come by. Now that I'm done with school I'm hoping to keep this updated a little better.

With love,
Keili

Happy Birthday to Us

Well I recently got a year older and so did Jonathan. For those who don't know Jonathan and I share a birthday. (you are now thinking how different and maybe cool this is) I would have to say that it has its highlights and its down falls.  Since we both had school we decided to celebrate that night even though we both had homework.  My dad was in town and he took us out to dinner. :) Thanks dad! I choose to go to Texas Roadhouse because who doesn't love their rolls and a good steak.
(Jonathan is trying to be creepy on purpose I never got a good photo)

We rode in the saddle together as they gave us a happy birthday Yehaw. My dad took the pictures and I obviously can't keep my eyes open when a flash goes off. We had a great time and were spoiled by my dad and mom. We then went home and exchanged gifts. Keep in mind that Jonathan and I discussed a budget for the gifts. I went shopping two weeks before our birthday and only spent 6 dollars over. I was a clearance queen and got some killer deals. (I was very proud of myself). Jonathan however, as you can see forgot about the budget. I was completely spoiled :) Man, I love my hubby

He also got new sweatpants for rugby.

That's about all that is new with us and we are both excited for spring break which starts tomorrow night. YAY!

First time for everything

Guess its time that I gave this thing a try.  I decided to start a blog to keep in contact with family and friends. Jonathan and I have pretty boring lives. :) We are both in school full time and on the weekends Jonathan plays rugby.   I am in my last semester of school (I can see the light at the end of the tunnel).  I am looking forward to May 10. Graduation!!! YAY!! I am also preparing to take my national board test which I plan on taking in early May.

Jonathan is preparing to take the MCAT in May and will be applying to medical school this summer. We have an exciting future ahead of us. He is currently volunteering at the hospital, shadowing a doctor in private practice and working on a research project. Oh and playing rugby. Needless to say we don't see each other very often.

I guess I better give a little back story on Jonathan and I. We meet at ISU, hated each other at the beginning but one thing led to another and we were married on June 3, 2011 in the Twin Falls Temple. I married my best friend and can't wait for the many years to come.
